Developing a Web Application From Beginning to End

The Moraga-Orinda Professional Firefighter's Assocation(MOPFA) was the second project where I was responsible for the entire website development life cycle. The site is built with WordPress. I collaborated with MOPFA members and local citizens in the community to launch this project.

Problem

MOPFA needs a digital presence because the association needs more recognition within the community. MOPFA needs more recogniction within the local community. A digital presence will help educate the public about MOPFA's mission and events. My role is to research, design, build and test all UIs related to the project.

Process

UX Research

The UX research plan is essential as it helps all stakeholders understand what will happen, why, when and with whom.

User Persona

I decided to create personas for this project to clearly communicate and summarize the research data from interviews. Before this project,I thought personas were sort of a distraction from getting the real work done. Now, I think personas create clarity and help me empathize with the user.

Style Tile

Style tiles encourage client participation and helps them have an emotional connection to the process. Also, style tiles help communicate the digital experience in a way clients understand.

Mobile Wireframe

I prefer starting out with low-fidelity wireframes to think through the structure of webpages. I used Sketch to iterate through the design process.
